Cut on Site Carpentry Sydney

How we approach cut-on-site carpentry

Slabs are rarely perfectly level, walls are rarely perfectly straight and existing houses have moved over the years. Pre-cut kits and off-site measurements assume they are. Cutting on site means we measure what is really there and cut to suit.

The result is tighter joints, cladding and decking that line up with openings and corners, frames that sit properly on the slab, and less waste. It takes care, but it saves call-backs later.

We bring the saws to the job and set up a safe cutting area. Offcuts are cleaned up as we go.

Approvals in NSW

Some outdoor structures can be built as exempt development if they meet every standard in the NSW Codes SEPP; others need a complying development certificate (CDC) or a DA from your council. Rules depend on size, height, setbacks and lot constraints such as heritage, bushfire or flood. Check your address on the NSW Planning Portal, and we will flag anything we notice when we quote.

FAQ

Common questions

Is cut on site more expensive?

Not necessarily. It can take a little more time on site, but it usually saves on waste, re-work and call-backs.

What jobs is it best for?

Anything joining new work to old: deck extensions, cladding repairs, renovations, and any build where the site is not perfectly to plan.

Do you work with supplied pre-cut kits?

We can, but we will still check and trim to fit on site.
